Soundtrack to your lunch.
Over the past two weeks I’ve been meeting with people for coffee and recording our conversations to share as podcasts. At first I didn’t have a purpose for doing it other than it being a lot of fun. Now I think I’ve realized I want to highlight the community that’s built up around The August Market in the past 6 years. It also is an interesting time as we ease out of a term that entered our vocabulary a year and a half ago and go from socially distancing to purposefully reconnecting. My first post features Dan. I was the first guest on a podcast he recorded with our friend Adam around the time I was thinking about opening up the store so I thought it only right he be the first one on mine. We’ve known each other since high school and he’s always been someone I find hilarious. We’ve collaborated several times on projects some which are out and some which we’ll finish in the coming months. I think sitting down to chat with Dan made me realize even though we’re good friends and know each other pretty well, meeting with intention to get to know someone you think you know well always leaves you realizing how much there is to a person. We sat down at Dan’s old elementary David Lloyd George. Dan co-owns a company called @velourproductions, so if you’re looking for photography or videography check them out. Find the podcast on Spotify, YouTube, augustmarket.ca, gogibear.com check the slides for more info. Coming soon to Apple Podcasts. #theaugustmarket
